Thats a very respectful resolution Steve. I for one, have used tobacco, since the age of 16. At 22 years old, this year, Im giving up the can of Skoal.

I'm 48 and will be 49 in April, I'm giving up a 30 year addiction to crystal meth, heroin, porn, sex with farm animals and betting on cock fights!

.... OK only kidding..... well, about the crystal meth. :D

I did promise my wife for xmas that I'd lose weight and try to get in shape.

Of course "round" is a shape, but unacceptable to her... *sigh*

I'm going to continue to learn to play bass. And I'm going to learn to invest, in order to buy me a lot of basses. :D

1. To finally be on a CD. I've been playing off-and-on for 16 years, and been quite busy on stage for the past three. However, last three bands I was in all recorded/released CD's right before I joined their bands. And two I parted from before the recording of their subsequent CDs. My current band is talking about hopping in the studio again, which means I FINALLY might get to hear myself on disc.

2. To get back to steady gigging. I wound up in the hospital with a lengthy illness last year -- six hospitals in six months. The week before the doc gave me the all-clear to return to all normal activity (incl band practice), Katrina hit and wiped out 90% of our New Orleans gigs, spread one of our partner bands that we usually gigged with all over the U.S.

3. To not wind up in six hospitals in a six-month period.

Happy New Year's, ya'll.

I got a lady friend of mine I haven't said anything to for years, and I should have. I'm going to. Wish me luck eh. On that note, good luck to you all on the new year.

That, and you guys will like this one. I'm expecting a fretless SR5 Hopefully(fingers crossed) mid to late January, so I'm going to play the crap out of that and make it so that I'm just as good if not better on that.

happy new year all.

Hi I'm magnus and I am an alcoholic. There is so much love here (+someone else vowed to stay off booze) i wanted to share, ok?
Therefore, my new years resolution is the same as the one I have made to myself for the last 15 years: to stay away from alcohol.
Sometimes when I read this forum I envy you guys "havin' a beer", "zippin' a martini" or whatnot, as that is not an option for me.

/magnus, sober since Jan 25 1990.

Eh, ain't much to envy...draggin' ass the next day if you really tie one on!

To be honest, I don't drink unless I'm gigging (and I've cut back on gigging); no boozin' outside of that.

Keep up the good work!

Congrats to Magnus and his mighty will!
May "Dude" have as much success.

I quit smoking in 1991. Valentine's Day.
