Just to make sure that you kids hear it first here...
Both John's from DT took advantage of a rare day off in LA and made the trek to the factory in SLO...that is pretty cool as it entailed 8 hours of driving both ways. Mr. Myung had never been there and JP loves to visit the troops and get some Firestone Grill Tri Tip.
Anyways I was unable to be there so JP called me and we chatted about stuff mostly about how much he loves his guitar. He paid us the ultimate compliment because he said in interviews lately they have been asking him about his career highlights and he said one of the very top ones was getting aligned with us. Wow. Its a love fest.
we started talking guitars and stuff and we got onto the Silhouette Bass and how much is loves it but for some of the stuff it is just too long of a scale length. Dudley has strung up some Bfr's with really cable like strings and it is easier to play but still too stiff.
He was going to work on guages with Dudley and I said that the solution would be to make him a Baritone that was somewhere in the middle of the BFR's scale length and the Sil Bass. Drew is at work already with a 27.5 inch scale guitar for his detuned below d stuff. Dudley and john worked on guages by capoing the sil bass at the 27.5
WE will keep you in the loop on each step with this guitar. It isnt about making a big seller here it is about staying true to our commitment to making tools for our artsts and customers.
