You don't see many of the older Axis Sports with matching headstocks. You definitely don't see many in brown metal flake. I actually don't know why this color was so hated...it's actually a pretty nice copper color. I add guards to all of my Sports that don't have them. They look naked without them. This one isn't installed yet. I also plan to put vintage saddles on it as I prefer the look of them. These are the photos I have for now. I will need to get a photo of the back of the neck. The maple is fantastic on this one.

I hate ALL Music Man guitars! They give me way too much G.A.S. haha

That's a sweet guitar!

You have seen exactly ONE brown sport. This is the one that was originally at Steve's in Canada. I know because it had a Steve's sticker on the control cover.

Dude - you remember a guitar you saw hanging on a rack 15 years ago, and you weren't even into EBMM guitars then? Your brain works different than mine. :)

That is so cool that this is the same guitar that was spotted so many years ago! I actually like the color. Enjoy!

Actually, pretty sure the one I was ogling at Steve*s had a maple fretboard, non painted headstock. The reason I remember it is because it was an oddball amongst the more popular brands of guitar....and I liked it...actually came back to the store ,months too late,to buy it...so I got a red one instead...still play it.

Johnny..I have a green HSS Sport...rosewood board. It came with a creme pickguard..didn*t like the look,so I installed a black one..totally different look....much sexier....a chaqu*un son gout as we say here in Quebec...different strokes for different folks...if you have a black one ,post a pic ..curious...love the brown guitar.

Green sports are amazing! I don't have a black guard but might pick one up at some point. That is so weird that this came from Steve's as well but is a different guitar. He must have ordered the only two metal flake brown sports ever. Haha.
