Hello friends,

My first post here, so first of all thanks for the welcome! I waited for some time to find an Luke model that I really wanted, and by watching the forum, I really fell in love with the visuals of the BFR Blueberry. Unfortunately, there are very few of those out there. So for a few years, I've waited, saved and watched. I'd recently missed out on an amazing BFR at my local GC because the timing was all wrong. So I let it go and began to look at other colors and stayed patient. I played a sunburst one on Monday and almost bought it.

Decided to wait. 3 hours later, my manager friend at GC texted me to tell me "It's back" and there was the Luke I'd seen. He sent me a picture of the guitar below. It was marked at a price that I could not refuse. I went. I played it to make sure I wasn't just chasing a look. I was not. This is a bucket list instrument that made it to my band rehearsal last night and was everything I could want. Versatile, Comfortable, Balanced, Impeccably Built and Beautiful.....and it seems signed by Luke himself!

Apart from a Ric 12 String, a set of Breedlove USA 12 and 6 strings, my Top 5 is almost full. This guitar ties with my 92 Clapton Page-era Strat as one of the most versatile guitars ever made IMO.

So I share to say thanks for all the info I got here. Glad to be in good company.

Peace - K

Thanks to everyone for the welcome!

Quick practical items:

1. Where would I find a full set of specs for this beauty? Want to give it to my tech and have it for myself so we are on point.
2. How are these DiMarzio Customs compared to Transitions? I love these, so I am just curious.
3. How can I preserve the autograph without damaging the finish. I was thinking thin static film that could be removed easily?
4. Any cool backstories on this model are welcomed! I would love to learn how it was developed, tips, tricks, etc. EBMM folks, please educate me! 😇

Aren’t those Transition humbuckers? The ‘custom’ Dimarzios of that era were the single coils (Injectors with different magnets, I thought).
Yes, Transition humbuckers. The standard injectors singles are listed by Dimarzio as Alnico 2, and the EBMM spec sheet I have says "injectors w Alnico 2" so I don't know what that's about, but yes, Injector singles (or very similar) and Transition humbuckers.

There was a period in the LIII production (in 2020, 937 and 938 build codes) when Luke switched to custom Music Man humbuckers (ceramic in the bridge, Alnico 5 in the neck) and the HSS model has Cutlass single coils.
