Ngd: Jp7 pdn

Hi Guys,

Today was the Day I've been waiting for, since April.
Actually it was Friday, when I got the E-Mail that my Guitar was there, but I had to wait till Monday to pick it up. I'm pretty sure that this were the two longest days of my Life!
So I picked up at Session Music in Frankfurt, drove back Home, and when I opened it...
... The Worst Case Scenario happened! I wasn't able to put it back into the Case! I played it for about 2 1/2 Hours, and I'd still be playing if I wasn't so excited to show you this Piece of Art.
It's really stunning how well made those Instruments are!

Thank You, Big Poppa for supplying us with those beautiful Instruments, and also Nathan Stiff from CS who was really patient, answering all my questions at the Musikmesse, regarding the PDN Instruments.

You're Right, it really plays amazing!
This is really the perfect Guitar for me. I think I'll have to look for a JP6 PDN to join her.
It also makes me wonder, why I sold my JP6 a couple Years ago, to buy a PRS Custom 24. The Custom 24 is a nice Guitar as well, but this JP is the Guitar of my Dreams. It's also Incredibly Light Weight!

Dave, since you've owned a JP6, how do you feel about the PDN in comparison? More sustain, more lively in the body/neck, etc, brighter, darker?

The first one I had, was one of the early Models, before the D-Sonic's... And it's been around 3 Years that I sold my JP6, but I kept the OLP Petrucci, which was my Backup when I had the JP6, They have the same types of wood,
The PDN sounds a bit warmer and the Roasted Maple Neck is really Resonant, you can feel every note ring out, when you hold the Neck.
I think it's always hard to explain the Tonal difference, between Woods, since it's pretty subjective.
But I'd say that the Mahagony Body sounds Warmer than the Basswood and it's maybe a bit less aggressive.
The Stainless Steel Frets are really comfortable, some people say, that Stainless Steel Frets give you a brighter Sound, but I'd have to compare that to a regular JP7 to tell you the exact differences. I will definitely buy another JP in the near Future, Probably around February, Then I'll get my CSI Toolkit out, and investigate how they sound in comparison.
