I've had this beauty for a few weeks. Absolutely love everything about it - well, almost everything. Not a huge fan of the pickups and I'd like to have some variety tone-wise. I've had a few of the Tahitian Blue versions of this guitar along the way but moved them on for one reason or another. Not this one. It's my forever guitar. Having said that I'm securing the parts to have this done to it:

As part of that mod I've scored a set of Axis pick ups and Nickel covers (which will hopefully fit) which will be installed. After all of that is done I believe I will have myself the perfect guitar :)

It’s a Dark Lord in that it has the same neck and reverse headstock as the black ones had as well as the same Morse body style. They also did a BFR Tahitian Blue quilt model I referenced in my post. There are a couple of recent posts of people snagging those. It’s the perfect/only EBMM I’ve found/played that fits me. It has the wider “LP” size nut as well as the thicker neck. Story is they scanned a Joe Bonamassa LP neck and that was that. Whilst I’ve really enjoyed all of the other EBMM’s I’ve played (and that’s into the double digits) none of them were quite right. Until now.

Thats a great looking guitar. I have axis pickups in 2 out of 4 of my morses. I really do like them in that guitar..

I had an original dark lord. That was such a nice guitar wish I didn't t sell it.

Oh, that is a nice Dark Lord. I love the color. The quest for the ultimate pickups begins…the good news is that there are so many to choose from.
Thanks! I think I've already found the pick ups. The Axis pick ups should sound great in this guitar as they do in the AL HH (Mahogany). They may have a bit more pop to them with the maple top but that can be tamed with the tone/volume knobs :)

Thanks! I think "DarkLord" is a term @Tollywood used when he bought one of the Tahitian Blue Quilt bfr's. It's basically a "DarkLord" because of the neck carve, reverse headstock, and body (pickups are different) even though it's not referenced as such on the EBMM site. Take it for what it's worth. :) No matter what you call it I love it. :)

imho, a phrase like "Bonamassa style neck" would be more appropriate, but that's just my OCD talking. ;)
BUT, that's a gorgeous guitar... Congrats!

*btw, I am a proud owner of a SM/Bonamassa Dark Lord, and the neck is fabulous!

Is the Caramel Burst pretty much the same, spec-wise, as the Tahitian Blue? (Besides flame vs quilt top, of course...) How is the neck finished? I've read both "ultra-light satin polyurethane" and the more traditional oil and wax. Beautiful guitar, btw!

Oh wow, Axis pickups would be ideal.
