Hello to all.....I just bought a emerald green Albert Lee HH from The Perfect Guitar in Baton Rouge. I bought a AL SSS from them a few years back, and in a moment of insanity sold it. Well I fixed that mistake today. Below is a picture of my guitar and I will certain give a quick review once it arrives. Looking forward to spending a lot of time here too!

Congrats! I almost bought this like two weeks ago!

I initially called James at The Perfect Guitar to ask him about the difference between the Luke III and Albert Lee neck. I am familiar with the AL, but never played a Luke before. During our conversation he told me once all his inventory was gone he would be closing the store. Unfortunate news because I had bought gear from him in the past. He told me he could offer pretty good deals as a result, so I re-acquired another Albert Lee. Hopefully this AL will be as nice as the one I sold a few years ago. My previous was a 3 MM90 model and the HH is really something I am excited about.

Guitar arrived today and is very GREEN! I'm in the initial setup period so a few days are needed. First impression is the neck pickup is pretty dark. I will check back after some time spent with the guitar. Weight is about the same as my other AL with a trem. Playability is of course stellar as well as workmanship.

Been doing some tweaking and the "bonding" is starting to take place. I raised the E,A,D screws a little on the neck pickup and it sounds more balanced with less murkiness. I love these minor adjustments that make a big difference. I do not use a trem at all, but do prefer these bridges to a hardtail. Reason why is I like the action pretty high and with a hardtail I usually run out of saddle screw length. I find that putting a acoustic bridge pin between the sustain block on the spring side, and the larger acoustic end pin between the block and the back of the cavity works nicely in blocking the trem. Also, with a trem there is more options with intonation. Sometimes I may need more length....especially with the low E string. I can either trim the spring on the saddle to allow more room, or angle the whole bridge back slightly to achieve the desired length. I love the simplicity of a hardtail, but for the added flexibility I rather have a floating bridge. So far the guitar is great!
