I present to you the "Frowning" y2d. It frowns because of my playing.

As soon as he played the first chords on the Y2D, I noticed it sounded slightly brighter, with more "bite". Whereas the blueburst sounded warmer, mellower. I can only guess that either the bridge pickup or the maple top on the Y2D is what contributes to the brighter sound.

Just a thought- the pickups on Steve's #1 are set *much* lower than on his other (and the factory) guitars - Tommy's seen this firsthand. Accordingly, he's going to get a bit of a different sound out of it with less output. I don't actually notice that much of a difference on mine.

I lowered the action on my y2d and left the pickups about where they were (effectively making them closer to the strings) It has a bit more bite than the other y2ds at the store, and to my ears it sounds brighter/snappier than the Morse standard which I shipped out this morning.

I like both, but the y2d is my favorite

Edit - Maybe it sounds like it has more bite because I tear into it since it's mine?

You know, actually... I'm in a dillema about the regular / Y2D Morse, too... A few things:

Y2D advantages - has the maple top, BINDING :D, De-Purple Burst :), Looks better with a matching headstock (because the old one has the logo in black), easy switching

Regular advantages - lower price :D, available in more countries and in greater numbers, more pickups etc.

The price is what's getting me striving for the regular one :D ...I like the Y2D better, though...
