Welcome to Day 13 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!
Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2022-12!
So.. this is a sorry showing. It's been a few days shy of 2 months since I posted NYNGD #2022-12 and here I am in mid-July posting the next guitar. And there's still 6 more 2022 NYNGD's after today's! Argh... sorry guys, but... life sometimes gets in the way...
OK, quit whining and babbling and get on with it, Jeff!
Alright, alright, alright! Today's NYNGD is a stunning quilt-top Axis in Yucatan Blue. Holy moly, look at the top on this one!
Now... you astute knuckleheads might be thinking, "Ugh, DiBart is losing his mind. The Yucatan Blue Axis was a 2021 acquisition! In fact, it was NYNGD #2021-7..."
But, no, this is another Yucatan Blue Axis. When I saw this one for sale with this AAAAA top I had to pull the trigger. But I like the top on last year's Yucatan Axis, too, so I couldn't do it dirty and sell it in favor of the sexier top. Gots ta keep both!
This guitar has been in my office next to my desk for the past 2 months while I was allegedly cutting the photos for its NYNGD (I keep the guitar that I'm doing on hand so I can make sure to color correct to match the actual guitar). I have literally played it every day over the past 2 months... and it is AWESOME!
With a top like this, today's guitar could be a candidate for the 2022 Grand Finale! But, no, there are 6 more guitars to go. Can you imagine how cool they must be?!?
I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!
Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.
(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars.
The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)
(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)
