Why do you have a box of tissues so close to the computer? ;)
Allergy season.

So hey guys....unlike Saxnbass...I don't know much about computers!!! But I did just buy a new HP 1440x900(i believe) 20 inch LCD monitor for my computer. Mainly I picked it up because I watch baseball games through mlb.tv.com I am currently using a VGA will running a DVI cable improve my over picture quality and speed? Thanks guys.....
I'm assuming you got the w2007 as that's the only 20" HP to be released recently. The older w series was only 15 17 19 and 22. (I'm an HP sales man, hence I know these things :D ). For best quality picture, run at native/optimal resolution. If you don't know how to do that, I can walk you through it, but I need to know what OS you're running (Mac OS 9, OS X, Windows XP, Vista, etc.). DVI will get you a better picture. I was playing around with that yesterday. I knew the technical aspect behind it, but wanted to see it for myself. You have to look close, but it's pretty much that lines are crisper with DVI and a little fuzzy with VGA. Not a big difference, but a difference none the less. Here's the technical aspect behind it:

DVI is a digital signal and VGA is analog. The video card produces images of what you see digitally. So when you use a VGA, that digital signal has to be converted to an analog signal, then goes through the VGA and into the monitor. Since the monitor uses digital signals, it has to be converted back to digital. During these 2 conversions, the quality is degraded a bit, mostly noticeable with straight lines.
DVI, since it is digital, send the information to the monitor directly, pixel for pixel. There is no conversion needed. Also, there is a slight increase in reaction time with DVI; it is however, super slight.

Since you like to watch baseball games on it, I'd recommend going with a DVI, if you computer has a DVI output. It will look better. I haven't tried the VGA vs. DVI with movies, but I can assure you there will be a difference, maybe not big, but in the long run, the $16 DVI cable will serve you well. :)

me too - you can probably guess my screenname - say hi some time :)
Will do. :)

1. PayDay candybars. We get one of these whenever we get a paycheck. Smart monkeys figure out who doesn't like them quickly.

2. Stök. These are like coffee creamers but are 40mg of pure Caffine. They enable me to see the Matrix.

3. Horse calendar. I asked for a 'pony' for our Secret Santa at Christmas this year. Yeah I'm a jerk like that, but at least the person had fun with it. I still don't know who my Secret Santa was but I adore this fruity calendar full of horses. Nothing makes people squirm like a grown man with a horse calendar.

4. Tux is holding a sign of protest that reads "I AM NOT A PUFFIN". Hell I dunno, he's a cranky penguin.

5. Caffine delivery is of utmost importance if I want to be able to shape the Matrix around me. This keeps my coffee piping hot even if I poured it 3 days ago.

6. You can barely see the back end of my tiny RC car. It really can't jump for crap so it's only good for ramming into my co-workers feet when they aren't expecting it and come in asking for some computer help. It can climb a tilted O'Reily book though, so that's a plus.

7. Assorted flyers I made, for shows that alcoholism has erased from my memory.

8. Ninja launcher. NOT CURRENTLY LAUNCHING NINJAS. It's original packaging folks, what can I say I'm a geek.

phatduck smells of Singletons. On Saturday I purchased a 19" widescreen Westinghouse for dirt cheap and so far it's solid as heck. Alas it's attached to my Windoes machine at home.

I'm turning my cellphone off this weekend and so should you Chewie.

Oh God, I installed Vista on my office machine to support the physicians and staff who were getting new personal PCs with it pre-installed.

Needles to say to get any work done I had to place another PC in my office with XP Pro on it.

Wasn't too efficient to have 20% of my apps not working.

Took me a friggin hour to disable the security features. Talk about a convoluted mess...

And as for the skateboard photo, what did he whiteout?

1 hour 10 minutes and"computer" Chewie becomes "life of the party" Chewie as 4 day b-day bender starts.

1. Just a little teaser. Move along.
2. Obligatory anti-Microsoft bumper stickers
3. Sunray. Sorry not a Mac.
4. Dargin's Blackberry that broke in less than 24 hours. Still taking over/unders on how long Dargin's new phone will last :) PC load letter error. WTF is that? nah it was JVM 517.
5. free Norman Rockwell calendar.
6. "Top Secret" shopatron document

Ok my desk isn't all that fun but if you look at the top left corner you can see the shadow of a Koa Silhouette 20th hanging on the wall.

In my opinion. The response time will go up when using DVI but the image will be sharper.

IMHO
