Chuck.....

Im so sorry that the news didn't go better today.

Make each day count.....as Little Scotty Hamilton say's " Every day is a gift....treat it as such"

Thanks BP, that is what I'm going to do.

I got another one of your creations today, of course I didn't have much time to spend with it today, but it's my Mom's favorite color, and she even asked today at the hospital if it came. At the time I didn't know, but I'll tell her tomorrow.

Another thing, she has been giving all of us her stash of valuables, she wants to know and to see that everyone gets what she wants us to have and not wait for some cold last will handle it all. One thing she gave me was a bracelet her brother sent her years ago, made out of mother-of-pearl. Wayne C. Henderson, an old family friend and noted luthier has tried to buy it many times to use for inlay work in his guitars. She told me to get Wayne to make me something out of it. Now that he’s finished Clapton’s acoustic, I’m going to get him to inlay “Jewel” (Mom’s name) in my CAR Bongo made out of that bracelet. It took ten years for him to build Clapton a guitar, he’ll do this for me over a weekend, void the warranty probably, but what a keepsake… on many levels.

BP, has anyone told you you’re a cool?

That is probably the coolest thing I've read here in a long, long time!

You're a helluva son!

Chuck and I already talked about this over the phone, but I have to say that the last two weeks of my mom's life were just about the best two weeks of my life. That may sound weird and maybe it even is weird, but we had such a good time. I learned things about her life that I never could have guessed. And she ate what she wanted for the first time in years! I loved getting her crab po-boys and whatever else she wanted at the time.

I surely wish you'd had better news, Chuck. You know where I am and you have the number. Call when you need to or just when you want to.

That is one of the most powerful things I've heard in a while, and beautiful.

For what it's worth I wish you both strength, and I thank you for posting.
