What are the regional dialects here in the US................is that like southern and yankee.

That's perhaps the widest variance, but as I've moved around this country, just about every region of the US has its own dialect or accent. The first client call I made after moving to North Dakota, the receptionist told me the boss was out in a boat, which I thought was very odd since it was winter and the lakes were frozen solid. Of course she meant he was out and about.

Even native Californians have their own subtle dialect, which can be learned by listening repetitiously to old Beach Boys albums, i.e. I wish they all could be Caileefornia girls.

Everyone in Georgia sounds like me, and I'm the only person in my family who has that dialect... how did that happen

Oh! As we (I and Frank, our guitar tech) went with Beth to Hollywood we came to the word Schlumpkin. It`s a mix of Schlampe (Scott always said "Shlumpa") and Pumpkin (The Splashing Shlumpkins!). So it`s not a german word. But if something goes really wrong we say "Alder, Scheisse", means "Buddy, thats ****". Ooompah loompah and Cabo Wabo!

I seriously doubt that. Many learned some in school, but that's it...not even here in Germany everyone can speak English, and then think of Poland or Romania...I don't think they taught English in schools during the communist era
