when I first glance at that AL it looked like it had black binding. How cool would that be? Cool collection Brent.
Geh. I really want to put a D-Sonic in my JP6 at the moment...Too poor, though...
Envy Green is, in my vision anyway, like the Green contained in Mystic Dream. If only there were a purple like the MD purple...or is there?![]()
Bruce, how're you liking the new pickups? Also, what do you run them through? I'm curious.![]()
73h Nils,
I tested the JPs with the D-Sonics last weekend.
I use them through a GT-8 (only the effects) connected via 4-cable method on a Road King Head + 2x12 Rectifier Cabinet. I also use a Bad Horsie II Wah, Whammy II, EVH Phase and RC Booster.
I loved those pick ups. They have more mids and less highs than the original ones. They are more agressive.
They have a wonderful throaty voice, which is nice because it helps you sound more expressively on your solos.
You become very audible in the mix. Lows and mids are balanced. I was missing those mids. I think they are too scooped on the original pick ups.
Also, you turn down the volume knob and the sound gets cleaner nicely.
It's the best pickup I've seen when it comes to getting pinch or artificial harmonics. They scream at almost any position, any string.
They gave my JPs more life. Their sound became more articulate.
I use standard tuning on the Envy Green and Eb tuning on the Desert Gold. I see that you have a DG too!I think the DG is the most beautiful color for the JP

In my opinion it is well worth the purchase of the D-sonics.
Such a big, round sound. I can be having the worst day in the world and after few minutes playing this I'm smiling!
