Does anyone know why the hardtail bridge on that ASS has an area cut out under where it says "Music Man"?

It makes me think it's a tremelo until I see the lack of a hole for the arm. I think it's cool, but I was just wondering - a handle maybe? :confused:

Maybe MM uses the same stamps/molds (whatever) to form the plate as the tremolo?
