Finally found my dream Sterling. Trading a non MM 5 string for it. Doing the happy dance right now! Woo woo!

Ooh, that's a beauty. Black cherry is my favorite finish, I need to get one of those someday. :)
 
Had a Stingray 5 in that finish and often found myself just staring at it. Looks even nicer on that Sterling. Congrats!
 
I'm absolutely LOVING my new favorite setting of parallel & cranking the mids on the Sterlings. What power to the upper strings while taming the mid snarl
 
Nice! Almost got rid of my Sterling HH in a moment of stupidity. I'm believe the dual pickup (especially the HH) sterlings are the most underrated basses in the product line, there are very few videos of them to be found!

Best bass going man. I sold mine only to get a PDN because I knew Id ALWAYS have a Sterling HH. I'm biased toward the HH as the HS has volume drops in some positions by design
 
Me to I had an HS several years ago, I did not like it near as much as the HH. I love soloing the neck H! Pos 1 (solo bridge H) is surprisingly my least favorite setting. to be honest the only thing I wish it did is have that pos be the rear H in parallel instead of series to get the true MM sound, but hey I guess that's why I have my single H SR 4!
 
Solo bridge H is great for nasty punk grind but otherwise I dont really hit it up too often. I find the neck H gives me that tamed down aggression that still sounds like clean bass. Gotta cut the mids & boost the bass a bit with that bridge H too.

That's probably what I need to do (or set the mids flat) when I solo the rear H. Typically Im a mids booster, (usually halfway between flat and max) on both my sterling and my stingray. The sterling H being in series probably naturally has the level of mids that I have to boost into my stingray.

Absolutely!

And the middle parallel position is more stingray ish & I boost my mids on ONLY that setting. The rest have enough naturally like you said. Rolling off some high mids at your amp also helps with Sterlings.
