Nice one!
Got to love the 20th with piezo and trem, I've got it's twin![]()
Do you notice that there's a significant tone difference? The RW with piezo seems to be brighter than the maple without!. I've tried all sorts of tricks. From adjusting the pickup levels to even individually adjusting the pole pieces. now my RW on it's own is balanced, and is quite nice, but the bridge pickup is much brighter than the neck. While on the maple, the difference is more subtle, but more organic. The RW one seems more harsh.
I can't help but think that it's because of the piezo saddles. that kills the bass response at the bridge pickup.
I ABed the maple with the RW, and the maple has bass response from BOTH positions. really great piece! The RW, was a bit disappointing, because I expected the same performance. But now after adjusting it, I think the RW has more tonal differences. I'll have to try it in a band situation before I can tell whether or not there's really less bass in the bridge...
Maybe I should hunt for one more RW with no piezo, and a hardtail... Heh...
