I know that you are, I surely do. I have to admit that at first I didn't really consider what you were doing for us. I have since reconsidered.

Until the reality of this thing hit me, I hadn't thought about what was coming out of your pocket and what you were getting in return. You may not look at it that way, but I do, and everyone involved should think about it for just a minute or so.

I'm sure you're going to have fun, but you should ask me sometime what it means to us, the regular "lunch pail" musicians who are taking part in this event. I'm not sure I am the most eloquent spokesman for the forumites...wait, I am entirely sure that I'm not, come to think of it.

It's going to be one hell of a good time, with the most unlikely cast of characters ever assembled. I mean, forget, if you can, Tony Levin, Dave LaRue and the unbelievable artist roster for just one second and imagine that Jon Smith and I will be together for the first time! What's that worth?

I make big funny and all that, but serious bidness, Sterling - you already know this from our phone talks - this is an amazing thing you are doing for this forum, and that's really what it comes down to - you are throwing us maybe the biggest bone ever.

I just wanted to say, and I am all Keteled up and just got off the phone with Steve Barr...thanks. I owe you thanks for so many things, but this is big.

You know me, I'm not given to butt-kissing just for giggles, but hot damn, sir - if I haven't told you before and if I never mention it again, this is maybe the coolest thing ever.

Now, I am drunk and I must go to bed and I will review and delete this if necessary.

But Sterling? Thank you.

Was it good for you or were you faking again?

I don't think it's that too many are deciding whether or not to go - it's down to "Can I pay for the airfare/hotel?"

So believe me, I feel for the guys who want to go and can't. I make them this solemn promise - we will take as many photos as possible, I personally will stay sober enough to take copious notes, and will devote space on Camp Bovine to making sure the people who can't be there get as much of it as possible.

As one who struggled with that very same question re: spending the $$$ on the airfare/hotel, I completely appreciate the hospitality put forth by EBMM. This effort goes way beyond the expenses associated with the event - it's an huge logistical effort to plan coordinate and ultimately host.

There is no one I know who has the affection for, and connection to, their instruments like the folks playing EBMM - awesome! :D

BTW - I too would've been pleased with the simplicity of a tour and a hot-dog! This is way too cool!

Unfortunately, I will be very sober too. Being allergic to alcohol tends to make me a drunk's best friend. Give me the keys to the bus - I won't mind driving everyone home! :p

I respectfully request that no more details re: the Saturday night concert be made available for fear of sending this author off a ledge... ;)
