I took my wife and kids to his show in Columbus OH this past weekend and was it ever good! It was a once in a lifetime for us cuz we're poor and don't live anywhere near where he usually plays. My little girl (not quite 2) loves his music and asks for "Uptown Girl" every morning after she gets up.
When we walked in, about 10 feet away was a short, balding fellow that looked *just* like him. I guessed it must be an impersonator or something cuz he was standing next to the teddy bear stand. I didn't want to make a fool of myself so I went on my way. I guessed wrong and missed my chance to meet a living legend. DOH!
The concert was absolutely amazing. That was the BEST mixed rock concert I've ever been to in a basketball stadium. Those places usually have terrible acoustics and you can't hear anything and the standing waves will take your head off at the ears. This one was mixed extremely well and the volume wasn't insane. I've had my car stereo louder on a regular basis. My daughter sang (sort of), clapped and danced almost the whole two hours. She had an absolute blast and probably won't remember it in a week. I am glad we got to go.
We wanted to see him before he either retired for good or died. This dude is a good 10 years older than my dad (which may explain why he talked about going to the bathroom so much). It was money and time well spent, I highly HIGHLY recommend going if you get the chance. If he comes close again we will definitely be going AND keeping a close eye on the teddy bear stand.
