hi folks, I'm looking at a deal with a guy on a '98 SR5 in trans red. my question is did those basses ever ship with a blond tolex case? the case looks like it is form fitted to the bass.

The only ones I've seen that came with blond tolex cases around that time, were the 20th anniv SR4 from 1996. Maybe the guy scored one as a left over when he bought the bass in 98. I have also seen them show up on ebarf every once in a blue moon.

If it is the same seller we are talking about, I can totally vouch for him but I am pretty sure that it is not the original case. The BC's had a brown tolex case. Could it be one of those?

And I wish I knew he was looking to get rid of his SR5 too. The SR4 I got from him is dead mint bro.
