Here's to a good football season without Michael Vick. Baseball, with all the scandal and rumors and nastiness, has finally become a wash for me. The NBA season was EXCELLENT, though! (Go Spurs!)

Have I mentioned how much I detest the Cowboys?

Jack

I agree with all of the above. I wrote off baseball after the strike in '94, when I learned (much to my surprise) that I could get along just fine without it. I'll watch a few innings on TV now and then, but I don't miss going to games at all. I am taking a perverse pleasure in watching Bud Selig squirm as Barry Bonds approaches the all-time HR record. I think Bonds was a Hall-of-Famer without steroids, and I'm old enough to remember watching Hank Aaron chase Babe Ruth's record, but baseball's "see no evil" approach in the mid-to-late 90s is coming back to bite it in the butt. Good.

I'm looking forward to the NFL season, especially since we made the switch to DirecTV a few months ago and I'll finally have access to the NFL package. I'm an Eagles fan, so this is the best time of year for me, before the inevitable major injuries and coaching blunders that continue to take years off my life. Good thing I don't get as worked up about sports as I used to. Still, I like the Eagles' chances this year in the NFC East, and the NFC in general, and I'm looking forward to seeing all their games for the first time since I graduated from high school and moved away from Philly.

Jack, I'll go head-to-head with anyone in my hatred of the Cowboys. I couldn't bring myself to watch any coverage of the Pro Football HOF inductions because Michael Irvin was going in. Too bad he didn't wear the fur coat and sunglasses he had at that memorable press conference after one of his arrests. I feel the same way about the Redskins, and I live in Northern VA and work in DC, so I understand living in enemy territory. My wife and I even went to a couple of Skins-Eagles games down here, but we stopped last year because some of the fans take this stuff a little too seriously, especially when they're hammered.

Oh yeah!!!! I'm so done with summer. Bring on September. I support the Ravens being from Baltimore, but I'm a much bigger college football fan. Did I hear Mike Greene say go Blue? Oh you meant the Giants?

I'm a huge Michigan fan, have been since I was little. I love Big 10 and SEC football. I've been to games at Michigan and Neyland Stadium in Tennessee and that is some fanatical football there... I live for saturday afternoon college games. (and Thursday night and Friday night... :D) Oh yeah and Saturday College Gameday is not to be missed.

Damn I'm getting all worked up just thinking about it... :p

My wife went to Michigan, and she's every bit as fanatical about college football as I am about the NFL. We have a Michigan flag flying in front of our house.

My Giants' season tickets showed up yesterday!!!!!!

Go Big Blue

You lucky bastid......................................:D:D Those have to be the hardest tickets to come by in pro sports. I worked at the stadium many moons ago, when Phil, Taylor, Bavaro made their appearances. I loved that team, that was the Giant team of all time to me.

Good luck with all that , no Tiki, no Strahan, a coach the players hate, and the Cowboys:D

WHAT......................you mean no Parcells so Dallas goes down hill by way of a fumbled kick and the antics of Mr. Wide receiver himself forever..............:D

But, goodness, we're going to be awful this year :(

Your no Giant fan, how dare you say that.........................................:D

I don't know who I hate more, Dallas or Philadelphia......................... The team can go 4 and 16 for all I care as long as those 4 wins are against those teams, but they won't. I say they surprise all you critics and have a good year.:p

Could be, but one of the longest waits is for Packer season tickets. Current wait list is about 35 years. From Chicagogigs.com:

"They have one of the longest waiting lists for season tickets in professional sports with about 71,500 people as of early 2006. The current wait time for season tickets is approximately 35 years. For this reason, it is not unusual for fans to designate a recipient of their season tickets in their wills. They are also renowned to draw the largest national TV audiences for the NFL's Monday Night Football telecasts."

The Masters is one tough ticket, too.

As a Saints fan, this makes me :D!

I live only half an hour from New Orleans(mississippi coast), and as much as I've tried to ignore football these past few years.. I've really been pulling for the Saints. They had an incredible season.

I hope they go all the way this time around.

Oh, and whoever said that they were a Chelsea fan:

I hope your eyes aren't too swollen from the tears of embarrasment you probably shed due to the amazing ass kicking you recieved from Manchester United in PKs. Boo ya.

Stanky, you're right, SEC football is cool. Saturday afternoons on CBS, baby! Hate to tell you, though, my dad was a Tuscaloosa alum. Roll Tide!

Know what other conference plays good ball? PAC-10! I know, most of you are out gigging when the games are on, but with the exception of Stanford, this is good football, top-to-bottom.

Jason, your coach is crazy. Guess who will go #1 from start to finish? That's right,

Believe me, I wish I didn't have to say it. The defense will be a little pumped up with the new schemes but on the offense even if we can solidify the left tackle and running back spots (I hope Jacobs does well), we have 2 glaring weaknesses:

1. Coughlin is a terrible coach
2. Eli will never be a big-time QB.

That being said, as always, I will watch every second of every game...

GO BIG BLUE!!
