love it

i love the interior on these older cars, especially mercedes. a buddy of mine has an '86 190E 2.3L 16v, which is basically the precursor to the AMG 190E with a Cosworth-engineered 4-cylinder. it feels like a sports car inside and out, even for what is considered a "family sport sedan."... even most sports cars today, at least domestic ones that i've encountered, don't feel or look as good as these older ones. cheers to you finding such a sweet one.

That is a sweet ride. When I was a kid the Mercedes convertible was my dream car. I'd prefer a manual tranny but I love the lines on that model, and it looks to be in perfect shape. Looks a hell of a lot better than the current Daimler Chryslers, IMO. Nice score Dude!

Not sure how the 380 differs (smaller engine??).

Yup...this has a 3.8 liter (234 CI) 8 cylinder V8 as opposed to a 4.5 liter V8 found in the 450SL. The 380's came from the factory with a single rail timing chain which were notorious for failing and the 450's came out with a dual rail timing chain so you have to be careful with the 380's. This one I got had the dual rail conversion done at 79,000 miles so I'm good to go.

The center column almost looks "torted" already. That's what's great about AZ, I've seen a lot of older cars out there in just mint shape....
Good Luck with it.

Form the service records I have on it this one spent most of it's life owned by a Dr. in LaJolla, CA. I have every service receipt down to every oil change.

It was only driven to the store and back by a little old lady from Pasedena.

Overheard at the used car lot: "If you don't like the deal I'm offering you, come back later with your wife and we'll dicker."

Well given the mileage and the age it works out to 7,956 miles per year so it was driven but not heavily.

We're having a house built, and one of the options we added was the three car garage. My wife thinks it's for the garden tractor I'll use to cut the lawn. :) It's amazing how much car you can get when you start looking at vintage wheels. I always thought a late 60's/early 70's Mustang would be out my league, but they're actually quite affordable. Now, gas prices just need to go down, so I can get my muscle car. Nice score, Dude. Love the color!

nice set of wheels you got there Steebo. If I could stop buying basses from ya, I'd love to save up and buy a 1987 Buick Grand National with the T-tops. That Benz looks like it was taken care of really well, best of luck with it!

Actually they're pretty much the same color huh? The window sticker on this car new in 1983 was $43,000 and it's damned near in pristine condition!!
