Nice Panzerwagon Dude!

I'm glad you found out about the timing chain weakness.
My neighbor had one stretch and the result was very ugly.
I miss my '69 280SL. I drove that beauty for 12 years until the family out grew it.
I don't know if you've had a convertible before, but seat covers help prevent seared leg flesh in the summer.

I'm no stranger to SL's...had 450's and 560's before but this is my first 380. I miss my 450 AMG I had in the early 90's but this one was priced right and pretty darned clean. I never did care for the 560 all that much but it's still on the road being driven by my former partner's wife and he's still driving my old '79 Jaguar XJ6 (another classic).

This saddens me, Steve. We had a '76 450SL that looked just like yours. I hope they fix it, really.

Hey Steve, glad you're alright.

It doesn't look that bad at all. Since you love that car, get some quotes from some local shops that have a good rep.

New hood, grille, left headlight and a little repair to the radiator support and she'll be as good as new. Although I don't know how available parts will be.
