I got an email from one of my students and thought it was kind of funny.

"Mr. P think I finally have my parents talked into a new bass. What do ya think... Bongo and Sting Ray? I know you play a Bongo and rave about it. I would like your thoughts."

Here I go, influencing the youth of America. Funny part is, I almost never (really) talk about music in my classroom, and have only talked about the Bongos a few times to other students between classes. With this kind of power maybe I should get some EBMM posters and some used basses for my classroom and start my own Bass Shop:rolleyes: - nah, the administration would probably frown on that.

Goes to show that kids are sponges and will pick up on almost anything.

:)

None of the kids where I work can afford Bongos or Stingrays. They all play Rogues and Ibanezes. It hurts when they tell me.

I had visions of of drooling, snarling kids hacking up toilet seats with chainsaws then attaching necks to them and calling them bongos when I read the title

The scary thing for me is how they pick-up the good AND the bad. Great that you've been able to provide such a good influence, both in and out of the classroom! :D
