I got a call from a friend of mine last night. Bill played drums in several bands with me in the 80's and 90's. In one of our country bands, Rare Connection, we had a lead singer by the name of Jimmy James Brewer. He had a neice named Patrice Pike.

To make this long story short, Patrice is one of the contestants on the show. I have a CD of her band Little Sister from the early 90's and she could really sing back then. I visited her website and she sounds just as good or better now. Just a heads up on this one. I'm sure I'll be voting for her.

I wish I knew her that well. She's really pretty.

On another note, her little sister used to sing with my band from time to time. She was only 15, built like a brick house and could sing country like nobody's business. Whenever she sang with us, I would have to beat the all the guys in the audience off of her.

You should have seen the looks on their faces when I would tell them that she was only 15.

If I remember correctly from last years show, the audience and viewers do not get a vote in who stays and who goes. If the format is different this year Patrice will surely gather many votes. Great voice and thanks for the links.

You know, I think you're right!

I watched the series last year but I've forgotten how they decided who got cut each week. There's too many of these reality shows on TV now.

Ok, is anyone watching Rockstar Supernova right now on the west coast? I thought some of you in more eastern time zones would have posted on the PLETHORA of Music Man basses in the Rockstar band. First show was tonight, anyone watch it?

Band was tight... the nice white SR and the black SR5 helped :) (as did the GK rig) - wasn't very impressed by many of the singers (there were a few but not many).

I was nice that the SR's spent most of the night on stage (I only remember a LesPaul bass coming out on the 2nd tune but I might have missed one or 2 others)

Correctamundo, Randy! One black and one white SR4, and an SR5 that I can't recall the color of.

BTW ~ Patrice, Dana, Jill, and Zayra all got a vote each from me...they kicked ass all over the guys!

If I had to chose between two based on tonight's performance, it would be between Patrice and Dana...I'd have to flip a quarter.

Is the house band the same one that played on the Rockstar INXS show? Sounds like it, if the bassist is playing EBMMs and Gibbos.

After starting this thread, I didn't even get to watch last night. :(

We had a band rehearsal to work on some new tunes. I'll see the episode tonight though. Glad to hear that Patrice still has her chops.

BTW - I found the CD of her in a local band called Littler Sister. She doesn't even list it as a band she was in on her web page. Some pretty good funk tunes on it though.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get that Zayra girl. She massacred Bring Me to Life...But I agree...a lot of the women really have it over the guys. Part of that is that many of the guys just aren't that good, or are good but aren't right for this band. I LOVE the house band, and the StingRay was really prominent in the mix all night.
