So, when I was 18, I changed it to "Page".

And after many years, changed it again. To "Prince". No, not after THAT Prince!

Then decided it was stupid to have even changed it once, as many people think the name "Darling" is kinda cool.

And so, I changed it back to "Richard Darling".

There could have been plenty of worse surnames than Darling too, eh Dick? :D

Been carrying this nickname forever... since nobody else does.
It's simply the name of the mountain right behind my cabin "up north".
In Algonguin Indian it means: a high & rocky place.

Koogie - is a shortened version of my last name. Koog or Koogs is used quite a bit. Been this way forever. I have a few more from my past profession. But, koog, koogs or koogie is mainly used. The 2k comes from...the year I ventured onto the Internet and forums.

When I was a consultant there was this husband and wife team I had as customers. I kid you not, their last name is Sexx, his first name was Richard. But he insisted everyone call him Dick.

I couldn't say my name, Bryan, when I was a kid. It came out "mynan", so that's what my parents have always called me and now most of my friends.

When I was young and touring I was known to do unusual things, though colorful and entertaining for my band mates, our road manager was not impressed and he blessed me with the nickname, it sort of stuck. I cringe to this day whenever I pick up the phone and someone says, “Hello Psycho”, ‘cause they know!

...that's all I'm saying.

Back when my daughter was younger, Blue's Clues was all the rage. Then one day Steve left the show and was replaced by an inferior (in my opinion) imitation.

Steve Burns then released an album called Songs for Dustmites. I thought that was a cool name, though I still to this day have never heard a song off of it.

I then wondered what a fuzzy dustmite would look like, and I enjoyed the sound of that even more, so I started using that as a handle.

My full name is Fred Elig--not Fredrick, etc.--2 simple 4 letter words. However, I've never been sure how to pronounce my last name--so I usually just refer to myself as "me". My father's name was also Fred (not Fredrick etc.), but since he did not legally change his name to Fred until I was 6 years old, I guess technically I'm Fred Sr.

I've gone under the combination of my first initial w/last name--felig--at other forums, but I don't like the sound of that when pronounced as one word--sounds like singing "For he's a jolly good felig; for he's a jolly..." When I signed up here, I thought I would do it with first name with last initial--FredE--but that sounds like either "Freddie" or like I'm introducing myself at a 12 step meeting.

Why couldn't my parents given my a cool name....like....."Bovine"

Lukather almost always calls me "Bove".

And that's usually followed with, "My man!"

I'm not sure if that's good or bad, frankly.

Jack, it's better than the alternative way of showing posession, where Luke just gets out a branding iron.. :D

Oh, and my user name is derived from my name, but the "B" stands for Bovine... or Biff.. or...

I'm kidding!! I don't stink!

Back in the late 90's when I first jumped on a bass-site I was lost for some stupid user name. There was a funny track on an Infectious Grooves album I was listening too (I think on Sarsippius Ark?) where Sarsippius flushes a toilet takes a whiff and says; "damn, kickin'! Now that's what I call Caca de Kick!"
The name stuck ever since. (no pun intended)
