It was assaulted by my Luke, which was no doubt jealous at all the attention I'd been recently giving the Axis SS. (I dropped my Axis SS on the Luke. It was late at night. I was tired. My back was hurting. I'm an idiot.)

You don't happen to have termites in your geographic region? Would you?
Actually, termites are a huge problem here.
I'm mostly worried about the wood being unprotected.

fly me over there...i'll bring some automotive touchup poly & fill it in . takes about 2 -3 weeks to do.
I'd love to. Paying for the trip might be problematic, 'tho. But if you need an excuse to come out here, you've now got the perfect one!

If it's me, I would do the following:
1. Panic
2. Swear a lot
3. Send it back to EBMM to get it fixed AS LONG AS they can keep that top you already have - it's gorgeous! and....
4. As long as it's not too ridiculously expensive!
That's just me though. If I had a guitar that pretty, I would do what I could to maintain it's prettiness. After all, each EBMM guitar is a work of art, and yours especially!
Thanks for the compliment! I've already gone through steps 1 and 2. And some of the different phases (anger, denial, etc.). Although I'll miss the Open House, I'll be in Southern California in October and wouldn't mind driving up to SLO to deliver my baby, assuming I can get it on board an airplane without having to take it apart, and assuming that EBMM are able and willing to do a nice fix. (I wouldn't want to be yelled at for holding up anyone's Y2D orders.

) Otherwise, I'm almost resigned to the fact that she's scarred for life...but will have more character as a result.
