Wow. That clear PG kills!! Especially on your bass because it just looks like it's on fire all by itself. Nice one.

Also...I think any of those PG materials you posted would probably look great. I'm really wondering what the red/brown tigerstripe would look like. That seems like it would be the best colour match. But sometimes it's nice to have some contrasting colour. Where did you find those...if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks

I think the clear looks good but I'm also thinking the contrast of a colored guard might look better with the right color.

Oh, you had to ask. ;)
I found those skins at STEWMAC.COM

I agree my man, something naked about it. Seems silly to cover up that beautiful finish with a pickguard.

BTW...

Now that some time has passed, can anybody comment on the tone differences PDN vs Regular?

I have Cobalts on my 5HS and flats on my PDN so they are hard to compare. I did try Cobalts on my PDN but took them off because they were brighter than I wanted. I probably could have worked with the settings a little to get it better but I wanted to try the flats anyway. Once I had the flats on I left them.

I love the tone of my PDN HH4 Bongo. I had a BFR Bongo HH4 with solid RW neck before this and it sounded great but this one is better. I'm not sure I can describe the tonal differences, it sounds less scooped when set flat vs the BFR, maybe this bass naturally has more mids?

I have a BFR Reflex HH5 & you're right, it was a tad scooped & mid shy naturally. Once I got the right pair of strings on it, I got the mids back where I liked them, its still much warmer but I just cut the bass & its good.

I would like the PDNs to have more natural mids & maybe a bit more high end sparkle than the BFR, still I"d imagine its less in both areas vs a regular model.

If I ever grab a PDN, its a tort guard & I'll do a side by side comparison with clips.

I would just like to take a moment and mention how very jealous I am of all your PDN Bongos.

My PDN 5HH seems to have more lower mids and a little more lows than my 6HH did. Same room, same amp & settings. I like it alot. Is it just me, or do you guys find the bridge H by itself is more "use-able" than regular 2 pickup Bongos?
