WOW,

Pearl Jam just finished up what was pretty close to an hour long live webcast on the Late Night with David Letterman page of CBS.com. The Ed Sullivan theatre was packed.

They sounded incredible and played a nice variety tunes, now if someone could convince Mike McCready to strap on an AL........:D :D

Hey Pug,

I don't get to the other forums, other than the guitar forum, very often. Didn't notice your post until now. I'll be the first to chime in. Love Pearl Jam!!!!!! Saw the video of the Letterman webcast on the CBS.com site.......amazing. I actually saw them this past Tuesday here in Toronto. The concert was great. Apparantly, their concert here on Wednesday night was even better, damn it. I knew I should have gone to both concerts.

Take it easy,
Scott

Scott,

I thought they were incredible on that Letterman webcast too. We just picked up the new album the other day, but I have yet to fully check it out. It's pretty cool of Letterman to pull that whole webcast thing off. I bet Leno was a little pissed considering half of the bands he gets on his show are kinda meager (just my opinion:) )

I was impressed with the drummer's backing vocals as well. Now, if we could only convince McCready to strap on an EBMM, we would be all set.

I'm glad to hear they were great at the Toronto show you went to, they're one of the few Seattle era bands that still kick ass.

My buddy went to NYC to see them the night after Letterman, hung out at a bar while his friend scalped some tix, headed off to the show and found out they bought fake tickets....talk about getting _ _ _ _ _ _  He was beyond pissed and he's seen Pearl Jam probably 90+ times.

Take care,
Pug

Hey Pug,

That's a bloody shame what happened to your buddy. The scam artist ticket seller needs to get his but kicked.

I don't think there is any chance of converting Mike or Stone. I think they are going to be Fender and Gibson guys till they die.

After the initial showing on Letterman's site, CBS switched to Real Player format and the quality of the sound and visuals sucked. I guess they only had permission to show it for a little while.

I'm sure there are plenty of copies out there, I just have to search one out.

AOL had one for awhile, it wasn't the Letterman one, but some sort of studio out takes or something.

I hate Pearl Jam. No offence just not my style. Letterman needs to get Avenged Sevenfold on there to show Grandpa Pearl jam how its done. Move over mother****ers. Theres a new and better show in town.

Calm down man! Be a bit more respectful of others tastes and you will receive the same respect in return. A more careful choice of words would also be appreciated.

I don't post on these forums or any forum to impress people with how respectfully I can approach certain subjects. I post exactly what I think. It may be wrong in your opinion but lets face it, that is "your" opinion and it really doesn't matter to me at all. A more careful choice of bands would also be appreciated.

I really like the new Pearl Jam album, there's some great cuts on it and Vedder's voice still is amazing to me.

Glad to see "our little problem" has been taken care of. Thanks to all the moderators and BP himself for ridding us of such an annoying individual.

On a side note, I did some research about the Lake Bodom murders which is where Alexi Laiho and his cohorts took there name from....

The Lake Bodom murders were an infamous multiple homicide that took place in Finland in 1960. Lake Bodom is a small lake in Espoo, about 22 kilometres west of the country's capital, Helsinki. On the night of June 4, 1960, four teenagers were camping on the shores of Lake Bodom when – allegedly – an insane person murdered three of them cold-bloodedly with a knife and wounded the fourth. The sole survivor Nils Gustafsson has lived a relatively normal life afterwards until 2004when he was arrested for the murders by the police. In October 2005 a district court found Gustafsson not guilty.

Looks to me that it has the makings of a good slasher flick.

Hey Pug,

Yes, it seems our little problem has been solved. When I first saw this idiots remarks in this thread, and then saw the comment he made to Hutton I thought is this guy for real. I bit my tongue and didn't reply cause I knew it would become a P#$$ing match between us. I thought, if he makes comments like this in other threads he'll be put in his place. And he was. Check out the Big Poppa thread in current events(if you haven't already), it's classic.

Getting on to Pearl Jam. I think their new album is the best they've put out in a long time. All of the songs are solid. When I went to see them, the new album was just out so I wasn't used to the songs. I think they played about 4 new ones at the concert. Now that I've had a chance to take in the album I think it's really good.

Thanks for the info on the Bodom case. Didn't know anything about it. I like the music the band plays, I'm just not a fan of all the screamo metal that's out there. Sing the lyrics, don't scream them.

In the few articles that I first read about Alexei, he did come across as arrogant. But he seems to have redeemed himself in some other articles about him.
