Hi,
You have got a great amp and a great guitar....
My 'tip of the week':
for versatility: use a Fulltone (eg. Fulldrive) in front of your amp, so you have a great variety of very good guitar sounds
a Rocktron (Xpression) for effects in the loop of your amp with a compact midi switcher.
In this way you have a small pedal board, a compact system, great sounds and great effects.
I prefer my 'electronics' behind me: just the switching system on the floor, as I have had an enthousiastic idiot spilling beer in my boutique pedals when playing live (it almost killed my beloved Chandler Tube Driver).
But this is just my idea,
Good luck.

I use this feature of the G-Major (1) with my Engl Screamer. Works very well.

For those who want to combine a (midi) rack system and pedals, have a look at this.

I am currently thinking of buying one of those. Awesome possibilities!

Yes, the GCX can switch amp channels. It's probably one of the most versatile switchers out there. If you're getting a G-Major, use its relays first, though.

Same feature is in my G-System. It works quite well. I use it to switch channels on my Bogner Uberschall and on an RJM Y-Not. I use MIDI for everything else.

Hi,

Marduke, congrats on your Mk V! A very nice piece of gear!

I personally prefer the Rocktron (Intelliflex or Xpression) above the G-major. I did A/B them and unfortunately I have to say that the G-major sucks tone and has differences in volume levels.
The Rocktron is much clearer, the signal path is not converted to digital: your guitar signal passes the unit and the effects are being added. In the TC stuff, your signal passes the unit also: it gets converted to digital and back again. Look on Harmony-Central for people with the same experience.
Even my old Intelliflex surpassed the G-Force in this! (And that is very hard to admit, as I paid a lot of money for the G-Force....)
Good luck.

Can you show me back of your rack please?

here it is:

i did some small changes since i took the picture.
the wires are fixed with some little plastic covers, i added a t-rex fueltank junior, so two of the power supplies had to go and some more little cosmetic things.

I prefer a mix of the 2, mainly because I am lazy and do not want to carry around an 18 space rack especially living on the 3rd floor apartment. So currently I use a 6 space rack and my pedal board and my 2 combos, while its more trips up and down its easier on the back and honestly it just works for me.

My pedal board carries all the pedals in my sig and then my rack holds my tuner, power conditioner, amp switcher, and acoustic processor.

the intellifex does not have any switching outlets.
the rocktron multivalve has it.

use high quality cables, inside of a rack system isn´t so much space, so with cheap cables you can get hum and noise very quick.

I prefer the simplicity of pedals but I do like the flexibility of rack systems... just not too keen on programming them with a footcontroller and all that.

I'd like to get a TC G-System. It seems like it's a happy medium between the two.
