Bungo, were you in New York for the 1 April, 2006, show?

Regrettably not, but I know a few people from the UK fan club that went and said it was a very special night. Were you there?

I'm especially looking forward to seeing/hearing the whole of 6 Degrees with the orchestra when I get hold of the CD/DVD. That piece was really made for that.

Still on this guitar... lol.

I love the top and whatnot... I can't get into those pickup bezels though. lol. Plus, I so need to be able to stick my pinky down in the pickup hole where they are direct mounted. lol

Jp's tone is so much about the Mesa, and that mix on VH1 was hopefully not the mix that will be on the DVD and you couldn't really hear the guitar too well, that there wasn't a very noticable difference in the sound of that guitar and his others. The thing about JP, much like Brian May or David Gilmour, is his tone is so distinctive in his fingers and amp choice, he could play a Les Paul and we'd not notice if we didn't see it.

I'm just amazed that there are that many prototypes out there with such minute changes to them. LOL. It's good to be king. :)

Agreed.

I would hope that the final version has the same body and top as the 'Sitrucci's' produced so far, but with JPs pickups mounted directly to the body as per the current model.

the body is made of alder with a mahoghany tone block and then a maple top. This is the best sounding body we have ever made. I keep telling people that the 20th Sil is our best effort to date.

well BP i'm happy to say that you dont need to keep telling me, i know now its the best guitar ever!!!!! everyone thats heard it cannot believe their ears!!!!

congrats on cracking the code

I saw the gig on VH1 classic and I have to say that Petrucci playing the 20th was the highlight of the show for me. Just beautiful tone without that harsh edge he usually has. Can anyone tell me the actual specss of the guitar? Is it really just a 20th with the JP trem or a JP wil a maple top?

It is a JP made like the 20th. 3 woods, 20th p/ups, killer tone.

Thanks! So basically we are talking about a 20th with the JP body and neck shape + the JP trem? I agree with the killer tone comment. I think that was the best I have ever heard from JP.

kids when you are talking about a player of P's precision one hundred thousands of an inch is a factor...

He must be some kind of player eh? LOL....who is this "JP" guy....hahahahaha....

Cool...when dudes of his caliber are looking at changing something they are used to, they are particular about things. 1/1,000 of an inch is a mile to them. Let this develop and grow to be what we all know it will be....a tone KILLING machine. This won't happen overnight......time people.....it takes time.

I caught the VH1 concert. Defitenely need to get the DVD. The best live
recording of DT yet. Really great energy and emotion from the whole band.

As for the guitar, it is a stunner:D

Don't we JP fans know it! I'm willing to wait...like I waited for his solo album. :D

No, seriously. I agree, koogs. I just wish JP didn't say we were so close. BP and Pete sound like they feel the same.

I just don't like having to reply with the same "form letter" reply to 42 people because it sets off the spam filter on my email server and then it's a terrible time figgerin out who got the email and who didn't - then I get a reply from someone asking why I sent the same email 7 times... I like the fact that people pay attention to what JP says, and that there is interest in the evolution of his guitar line. I think that when his next model comes out, it's gonna be the next best thing since butter on toast. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I can't wait to get yelled at by Nick for ordering more than we should. I can't wait to sell them all and tell Nick "I told you so."

My favorite thing will be to torture you all with pics of the newest JP right after the first one arrives.
