This is what I went with! The pictures don't do it justice, hastily done on my first cup of coffee this morning. I like it and have many great comments! ;)

Oops! Moody's out - this Levy's is in! Perfect match with the 25th! Tell me how to get one coastie!!

I don't believe I've ever seen a novel written about a strap.

Well Jack... straps can also be a fashion accessory imagine either one of these on your dargie's beauties... ;)

You mean something like straps? ;)
EB Straps

Yes and no, I don't think using a non EB strap can be deemed as damaging as using a non EBMM instrument part.

Specially since a LOT of people uses other brands of straps more as a "style" accessory than to be awkward or offensive to EBMM.

But then again, "your argument is valid" and I am guilty on all accounts, shoot me. Still, if these straps were still available today, I know I would have one now, although I am not prepared to pay the asking price this ebay crook is asking for it.

No, unfortunately with the controls mounted on the pickguard, swapping them is not as easy as it would be for a Bongo or a Sterling.

I am not really keen on dismounting the preamp just in case I might bend or crack a knob.

(Now, who would do such a thing?) :D :D :D

That is a very very pretty SR5 GW - your new strap looks so good I'm going to get one for my SR5 natural. Your 25th will arrive soon?

BTW I was v rash and changed my SR5 scratchplate - only the pot knobs have to be taken off and the plastic selector switch cap - and the switch does hang loose - no other part removal neccessary - it took a couple of attempts refitting the knobs to get the centre detents to work properly afterwards though ;)

That's good news, I might look into getting a different pickguard if it's that easy.

My new 25th is due in 20 days if "they" keep on schedule...

The plain white pg looks good already GW. To be honest the lighter pg on the trans red brings the colour out more - the ones I've seen normally have black with black controls I think.

Only 20 days of 'torture' left then :( - does your wife have to gift wrap it and hand it over on Christmas day though (I'm presuming it is a Christmas prezzie?)

Yes the girlfriend, promised to pose scantly clad with it on xmas day (with any luck) :D There'll be no pics, before you ask haha/

p.s.: I actually seriously contemplated a tortoise shell p/guard would go nice with the translucent red bass
