hye guys, new in this forum, so yeah, can anyone recomend me bout the pickups i should get. Its for my OLP TL series. it uses the same musicman pickup and i thought of changing it. what brand and models do u guys recomend.

I can't really recommend any pickups, but I can tell you that alot of people here will recommend you keep the stock ones.

Besides the obvious sound reasons, which are probably why you want to change it in the first place, I'd advise you to consider that the pickup was designed for that bass; changing it might not be the best option. What about a different brand of strings?

Tone is subjective, and as FZ says:"there is no accounting for taste."

If you're set on getting a new one, however, I'd suggest you take a look at Nordstrand systems. I've heard good things, but never played a SR with a set.

thanks guys for the info. but there's another problem which is that i live in malaysia. If am not mistaken, the pickups that u can only find are basslines and emg pickups for MM. any info regarding htose brands?

You may have to contact the pick up manufacturers to check their specs, but I suspect that their MM pickups will not be a direct fit for an OLP. Nordstrand is the only manufaturer that I know of that makes a direct replacement. Contact them and see where your closest dealer is located.
