Calm down. Try not to get mad. Best thing to do, give customer service a call. They will tell you the best course of action. I'm sure it will be something that can be fixed easily.

Can someone give this guy the number for CS?

Did you check your battery? Does it have a charge/fully plugged into the battery box?

And yeah ... call customer service ...

Nas, trust me on this. Relax ok. I'm sure EB customer service will be very receptive to your dilema. The different pricing issue has been talked about alot on here and it's not something EBMM can really do much about. It's not something they do deliberately to annoy us rest of the world folk.

Getting mad at the company or the people on this bored will find your problem suddenly falling on deaf ears.

Just be patient and try and see it for what it is. A problem that will have a solution.

You really don't want to go down this road:

And sorry to the mods for rhashing that sorry incident, but it's a striking example of how something can get out of hand very quickly.

Hi nas,

As puppyonacid said, just remain calm, cause we've been down that road of abusive customers and it's not pretty. But if you remain calm and be nice EB customer service will help you out.

Just a couple of questions.

1. how are you running the piezo and magnetic pickups, magnetic to amp, piezo to PA, or the same output to an amp.

2. have you tried your cable???

3. If you are running in to a PA, are you sure the PA is working properly???

4. have you checked the piezo/magnetic selector switch?

5. Is the bridge floating more than normal, if the bridge is floating too much the piezo won't work.

6. Have you tried looking at the connections in the battery compartment.

I know you might have tried some of these things, but sometimes the problem is just something real stupid.

I hope this helps,

Scott.

From your first post (above) it sounds as though you were aware of the policy that you'd have no warranty through your German dealer network if you purchased in the USA.

I suppose you could attempt to resolve the problem through the dealer in Chicago. If this seems like a big hassle, then you are beginning to understand why the overseas distribution network, and the policies and additional $$$ that make it work, exist.

I wouldn't be so angry if I were you though. Jongitarz tried to help you even though he has no obligation to do so! Again, it appears that you willingly circumvented the 'rules', rolled the dice, and the gamble didn't pay off. Now you're mad at the company for your actions?

It could be that you could go through the people in chicago to get them to send it in to EB. The trip to Germany could have jarred something loose.

Otherwise, find a good guitar tech who can work on it there in Germany.

nas,

a lot of these suggestions may sound obvious, but please do not be offended for my simple suggestions:

1) does the magnetic/piezo toggle switch seem to work? (does it at least cut the magnetic pickup output when in the 'up' position?")

2) is the volume knob for the piezo output turned all the way up?

3) is your bridge level so that there is adequate tension on the saddles to activate the piezo elements in the saddles?

4) is the piezo 'mix' screw on the back of the guitar turned up?

5) is the battery inserted in the proper direction (i.e. negative and positive on the correct sides)?

6) are you using two mono cables or one stereo cable and sending the piezo signal to a different amp source than the magnetic output? Or are you using a mono cable in the 'mono' jack and running both signals to your guitar amp? Try different wiring configurations and see if maybe one of the output jacks is bad.

If none of these help, you'll probably need to look at internal wiring or take it to a good technician.
