That's so friggin cool!!! I saw the title of the thread and my heart almost lept out of my chest. Yes I love the Sterling bass. I was afraid this wasn't going to be out anytime soon, I'm very happy to see otherwise.

My question is: how does it sound??? Is the B string much different than the Stingray 5?

I'm super excited!

Where did you have the gain set on the bass BP? Did you have on clean underwear both before and after testing?

:) sorry feeling ornery tonight.

Do you have any idea on what weight the Sterling 5 will be (roughly)?

And what I'm sure a lot of people will be asking: will you be able to buy/trade/get an alnico pickup for the SR5 (for current owners of SR5s without them)?

Alex, I noticed your signature. Ditto. But shouldn't your better hand be your fretting hand anyway? That's the take I've always had on it. And regarding us lefties ... my grandfather was one too & he always said that we were the only ones in our right minds. :D

Later,

Stingray 5 = alnico

That's some of the best news right there. The Sterling looks great, and I guess we would already know what it sounds like...but the SR5/alnico is the sound I've been wanting to get back. Very cool.
