interesting stuff Big Poppa,
Can I ask how Vinnie Moore got involved with Musicman and why he left?
I personally think he is out of his mind to leave Musicman for Dean, I used to love his silhouette tone, the dean doesn't do it for me :-(

PS I got an email today from Jemsite...

Not at all :)

I seem to find myself playing ernie ball musicman guitars now instead of ibanez, so naturally I find myself on the ernie ball forum more as a result :-D

Kind regards

VInnie came to us through Frank Soloman who manages Steve Morse and John Petrucci. He loved our guitars and in the end I think he felt that Dean would show him more promotion....just a guess I still love Vinnie and was sorry to see him go....

Izzz please let me tell someone they are asking a dumb question........

I need to make sure that this place stays friendly.....
\I really have a hard time answering that question not because of the other artists but really I guess when Paul Mc cartney was briefly playing an Albert Lee that was something

Well after reading through this thread and as an occasional member and a guy who is from the streets of NY and shoots straight I will tell it like I see it.

First it does not seem Eddie Vanhalen is too popular here. In my opinion in the world of hard rock Jimi Hendrix wrote the first testament and every lead player was measured up to him and it was thought the electric guitar could go no further than that until Eddie Vanhalen popped up and wrote the second testament with a whole new bag, that was like nothing ever heard before that sent million of guys to the woodshed room and copy everything the guy did. Also like Hendrix he is a phenomenal rhythm player. Now I do not worship at the temple of Eddie Vanhalen but that is a fact and try to find a record before VH1 with playing like that.

I would guess that the split Eddie had here must of left a bad taste in peoples mouths which does not surprise me as I think he could be a real prick and everyone he worked with all ended up with him leaving and him seeming to be a difficult guy. When Michael Anthony got the boot is when I realized the guy with the baby face and killer chops might not be such a cool guy and probably the reason for most of the problems. After seeing the NAMM 07 footage made you realize the guy had one foot in the grave and if he did not get help he would be dead. But the guy had a great guitar with this company and I dont think that should be banished from the books. In fact I believe down the road it is going to be one of the most valuable modern guitars price wise.

I have close to 2,000 post on the Fender.com forum and played them for over 30 years and John Mayer is the golden boy there. It really boggles my mind how anyone can call this guy a great player. When he first came out he totally copped Dave Mathews whole act right down to his chord voicings. The guy is a very talented singer songwriter and an excelent rhythm player but as a lead player he is just good, nothing special though. If this was the 60s,70s,or 80s no one would even be talking about his playing. I bought his first trio album and will say it was the biggest let down I ever heard. I mean are there any signature Mayer electric songs, riffs or licks-NO.I come from the school of that playing with guys like Hendrix, Beck, Clapton, Gary Moore, SRV,Santana, The three Kings BB, Albert and Freddie and this guy is no where near that class of player. But he must be moving a lot of guitars for Fender as he has his second signature model coming out that 83 pieces will sell for 6 K each and then 2K for non custom and I dont get why, because he dated Jen Aniston give me a break. I will take three guys in his age bracket Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Derek Trucks and if he got on stage with them he would get smoked. I will nenver forget during grunge Guitar World had Billy Corgan on the cover and Steve Lukather wrote in a letter stating how it is a joke how guys who have chops and can play are being shunned for guys who cant even play in tune and then he brought up about Corgan being on the cover and said what is someone going to learn from him I could play better than him when I was eight=and I believe him.

I dont know the politicking that goes on here but you guys got a great forum with a guy like Sterling who is an active member and who I think has a company that is making the best guitars out there today, that are totaly original and dont bite off the Fender, Gibson format and also work with some of the greatest players in the world. I have been saying for the longest time on the Fender Forum why Fender cant produce one successful humbucking guitar in 60 years and EBMM has made about 7 in less than 20 years. But some guys here have to drop the mob mentality when someone says something they dont agree with . That is the only thing here I am not cool with.

^ maybe we will never see a mirror-imaged AL, or do we?

They probably could make an exception for Macca...a one-off lefty AL to spread envy amongst all the southpaw guys out there...:D

Just kiddin'...I guess it's just too cost effective to re-tool everything to make lefty AL's...but McC with an AL indeed would be a sight to behold!

I was thinking about Paul mccartney when asking the question :) wasn't that awesome?!

Sorry for cheesing you off Izzy... I thought it would be insightful to read what BP would reply? I didn't realise I'd get my hand bitten off on an internet forum LOL
