It looks like an aftermarket? Really?! I bought this bass new from Bass Central. Though I noticed that there are a few "refinements" in the bass where it seems that it was gone over. As soon as I took it out of the case I could tell right away. Also - when I put the serial number into the database, the pickguard color is not listed. That struck me as odd. That looks like either blue or tuxedo candy crush from Pickguard Planet.
MM did make pickguards with a pattern like the one on your Bongo. I don't remember what they were called, but I remember blue and orange in that pattern and there may have been a couple other colors as well. I remember because I was thinking about putting one on the DD2 Bongo that I had.It looks like an aftermarket? Really?! I bought this bass new from Bass Central.
Greetings, new forum member here. Here's my 2022 Stingray Special HH pickup back in January. It is the love of my life and I think I have stronger feelings for it than I do for my own children. Speaking of children, I also have a Sterling Ray34 that was my gateway into the Stingray, but my son "co-opted" it and it lives in his room now.
