Hello everyone! Rejoining the forum several years after three very nice USA sterlings, gone and missed. Now, proud owner of this 98 SR4. I seem to have a problem with resisting more Bongos :)

Someday I will need a 12 step program. But need 5 more Bongos first. The Desert Gold was my first. I just picked up the Blue Sparkle.

I call the Electric Blue one the Dave LaRue bass. I was wondering where I can get another pickguard like that. Put it on the Fuchsia sparkle bass.

I am looking for a silver sparkle Bongo 5.

That looks like either blue or tuxedo candy crush from Pickguard Planet.
It looks like an aftermarket? Really?! I bought this bass new from Bass Central. Though I noticed that there are a few "refinements" in the bass where it seems that it was gone over. As soon as I took it out of the case I could tell right away. Also - when I put the serial number into the database, the pickguard color is not listed. That struck me as odd.

MM did make pickguards with a pattern like the one on your Bongo. I don't remember what they were called, but I remember blue and orange in that pattern and there may have been a couple other colors as well. I remember because I was thinking about putting one on the DD2 Bongo that I had.

Greetings, new forum member here. Here's my 2022 Stingray Special HH pickup back in January. It is the love of my life and I think I have stronger feelings for it than I do for my own children. Speaking of children, I also have a Sterling Ray34 that was my gateway into the Stingray, but my son "co-opted" it and it lives in his room now.
