Problems with my bongo

actually, I thought that was what this forum was about, thumping our chests and heralding our love of MM basses.

and I would say that putting the blame solely on the manufacturer:

Poor design choice with the battery box. shame, everything else is perfect.

will usually get some hackles up.

And finally, if Customer Service has a chance to take care of the customers, would the negative aspects even exist to be discussed?

I'm gald someone finally said it, 'cause I was about to too.
I couldn't believe how many guys came out with guns a blazin' tearing into that guy with no help...and he already called them before.
For all he knew, it could have been a common solution that all he had to do was take a minute to ask. If it isn't common and no one knows, then dig further...but be slammed? Come on!

there were no harsh words until his genius techs (that cant figure out a 18v connection) criicized the design and ric repeated it....we were all good up to then

I will usually direct said member to Customer Service. However, when they continue to state their problems and circumvent the system...things get heated. I avoided this thread until now.

The FAQ states about using Customer Service. I have been on this forum for a while....and I use Customer Service when and if needed. That is why I direct new inquiries about problems to the people who are paid to answer them.

We are a die hard bunch here....me more so than most. I believe in the product and I use the product. Here is only MY experience with the 2 bongos I use on stage.

Keep in mind, I play in a very "heavy" metal band. (For those who baby thier basses...DO NOT PROCEED READING!)

I have been told I am violent with my bass as if it has wronged me in life by people who have seen us play. I am all over the stage and will literally hammer fist the strings on my bass. Not all the time, but in those "very metal moments"...lol. So much so, I come away with a bruised hip bone, bruised pinky finger and hand. I stress cracked my pinky finger at my Oct. 4th show....that is how hard I am sometimes. But, I love to play and get people into the music.

Cool part, the bongo worked flawlessly. No problems what so ever. Continues to not give me problems.

Now, ric has a problem. It happens. But, even if he called CS already and still has the problem, he should call Customer Service again. It could very well be something that needs more attention.

For the others, sorry you feel the way you do. I hope you stick around and contribute....but if not, that is your decision.

Well, I didn't mean to get everyone in an uproar over this. I was simply repeating what the techs said.

And that wasn't even the point. I don't really care if it is a or isn't a good design idea. I just came here to see if some people had the same problem and if there was an easy fix, short of sending it off to customer service, so that I can fix once and for all the problem with my favorite bass.

I really had no intention of trying to start a debate about the design of particular parts.

Now that I think of it, it wasn't the whole battery/foldout box they said was a bad design. But, the way the connectors at the bottom are into it. So, basically since it's not an EB part, it's a design by someone else, that for some reason is giving me the problem.

These guy play and run a shop. They know their stuff. Don't get all mad at me I'm not trying to infer that EB doesn't. I'm just saying they are not some numbsculls.

how do you pull those connectors up? I don't think I can get my finger in there too well.

P.S. I should have chose my words better I guess. Being a bongo owner I know we sometimes have to be defensive about the unusually shaped instrument.

You can use a small flathead screwdriver to bend them up. It shouldn't take too much force to move them up.

I hope you get that beautiful bass fixed and you hang out a bit here. We're actually a fun loving group that gather on occasion to frollick with visible epidermis whilst reveling in the radiance of the 4,5 and 6 string instruments finely crafted by the mythical magical elves of SLO.

Pictures of that beautiful bass would be most welcome.

it is hard to guage tone on the internet. Vocal inflection is lost as is knowing a persons personality. Ive seen people be run off the boards at other forums Im on, and its never pretty and it is usually a mis understanding.

I think that what is basically comes down to is one thing. We all want to read of your bass being fixed.

Despite the suggestions of forum members, calling customer service will always help more than we can. Chances are, they have more than one solution in mind for solving the problem and will be there for you until it gets fixed.

I have been playing EBMM basses for 16 years. I have only had to take a bass to the doctor one time and it was my fault that it needed to go.

If I have any reoccuring problems with it going out because of the actual battery connection I will use suggestions gathered here.

Jeeze quit acting like a fanboy.

I'm still trying to work out how the battery connectors can get bent in transit in this guy's car on the way to a gig. I mean, where are the moving parts that are causing this? With a battery snug inside the battery box there is no way any damage can be caused in transit. That's why I called it BS. I'm not being a fanboy, I'm merely trying to understand how what this guy is claiming has happened on repeated occasions can physically occur.
