I've been a huge slapper for a while now, a lot of, blast, can't remember his name. One half of the brothers something? He used a ray I know that much. Anyhow, the point I'm getting at is that it's a lot of technical stuff that's quick and sounds like so much happening at once that your head is going to explode.... *Ahem
My point being that, given the sort of slap I'm a fan of, you can imagine I wasn't too keen on my neck P'up when I first got my first Bonger. However, and I'm glad Bassmonkee and Mingus talked about this because I've found that learning to deal with that P'up REALLY tightens your technique and tone. And so I ended up believing that Bongers are one of the best basses I've ever slapped on. And Mingus is right, they have Amazing slap tone.
Anyhow, if you lowered your P'ups and all is well. Good, keep it that way, whatever works for you. I'd just like to defend the idea that it Is possible to slap with that P'up there.
