Has anybody ever called EBMM to see if they'll sell a replacement decal or perhaps sell / apply a decal to an inspected / bonifide refinned EBMM neck? It's a reasonable request. If they won't I know there's aftermarket waterslides out there. The real deal would be better though.

Only when you send it the neck. (that's what I understood from a different thread)
But maybe only when the instrument was damaged so you "have" to refinish it as in my case.

But I'm in Europe so I don't think shipping it back and forth is going to make things cheaper... ;-)

Now how about that photoshopped 25th headstock... ;-) Show Me!

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but did we ever SEE the headstock?

Since it's going on six months since islandboy's last post, I guess it doesn't look likely,
so if you're out there Islandboy how about a headstock and full shot of your of your refinish project. And kudos to Pat Wilkins, the guy's a master.

Funny that you woke up this old thread. I just listed it in the For Sale thread, along with a few other pieces. Taking pictures of them all tonight, so I will post some in both threads tomorrow. PW did an incredible job on it !! I cant tell it from factory, next to my other MM basses.

Lol ............... I guess I deserve that !!! Just have not been around here much lately (or playing for that matter).
New Business - Moving House , etc, etc.

LOL! I have to say I've been a little skeptical as well, but he IS selling this infamous PURPLE bass, so he HAS to post pics right?

From what I can make out it the head stock diddnt work out the best. In saying that the colour is amazingly beautiful and if I was buying it I wouldn't mind the headstock.
I could ofcourse be very wrong, it's hard to tell from the pics

I think it just has the Ernie Ball Musicman logo. Pat Wilkin's work is second to none. I'm sure it's fine.

You nailed it ! HS came out great ... just like the rest of the Instrument. It just has the EBMM Logo - No 25th Logo. Logo aside, you would be hard pressed to tell that this was not how the Bass came from the Factory.

I guess you could say I came to my senses ................and kept the Purple 25TH. I got a few PMs asking what I did with it, so this is the bottom line. I absolutely LOVE the Bass, and the job came out INCREDIBLE !!! However ........ in hindsight, I really wish I had done it with an HSS instead. I really love the diversity that p/up combo allows.
So, I figured that I would just sell this Purple, and do an HSS. However, the reality of the marketplace is that I have WAY too much $$ invested in this one, and others wont appreciate the job unless it is seen in person. So as much as I would like it to be an HSS .... it is not ..... however I still love it , and the Purple top is AMAZING !! I know deep down, that if I DID sell it, I would have had huge regret down the road.
So all is good in the Purple World !!
