my d and b string don't sound as "hot" as the other strings when using the piezo. When playing a passage across all strings, notes played on the d and b sound lower in volume. Any ideas why? Is it a symptom? does it have to do with the individual crystals mounted on the saddle? thanks.

My JP6 has the same problem on the D string only and I changed to a fresh new battery. The volume on all the other stings are equal but when I hit the D string it drops in volume by half. ???

wow, you too? I've read some horror stories regarding the piezo on the JP forum...

maybe it's a common problem... hopefully with a common solution that involves a minor adjustment of some sort.

i mean, this isn't just any company... this is EBMM! Top notch quality!

Get in touch with your dealer. As a next resort contact Beth on customer service.
If this "problem" is being discussed by other users then they (CS) will also know about it.

EB will look after ya.

I tried out a JP7 w/ piezo at my local dealer and the D string on it was about half volume too! Makes me very concerned about the JP7 I just ordered with piezo!

FWIW, the JP7 I played has been sitting in the store for a few months and been played countless times. Although the action seems to be very good, the saddles don't all look level and I can't speak for the battery's condition...

I'll be sure to play the piezo extensively when mine comes in just to be sure...

I hope this is an isolated issue. I have 2 BFR's on order and it would suck to have them both messed up with this problem, especially since I plan on using the piezo as much as the regular pickups.

I had a BFR, but I returned it because of some flaws I noticed. I chose to buy used instead after that because I wouldn't want to have to send in anything back to EBMM . Just feels like too much of a hassle, plus I saved money this way. The BFR was *too* nice and I need something I can play the hell out of. Plus I like how the bareback feels, and I don't like the D-sonic... makes the chords sound too mushy. I think the old pick-ups sound more like the Ibanez JP used to play back in the day.

Anyways, obviously I don't have warranty to fall back on or anything, but I figured someone here might now whats up with these faulty Piezo's. I see now I'm not the only one! But I guess if that's how it's gotta be, than oh well!:(

Maybe I'm just paranoid, I hate the idea of sending anything in to anybody. I mean, what if it gets a dent or a scratch, it's the human factor, u know? Fix one thing and break another! But, if you send in a guitar, do they pay the shipping? and how long does it take for them to send you back the guitar?

Please give them a shout before complaining about issues on the forum...it's only fair.
As far as turn times, I don't want to speak for them, but I will speak from past experience, you will be absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the customer service department.

I would send your guitar in to EB. If its under warranty I doubt it will take long to fix. I had an issue before with my JP6 and I got GC to ship it to EB overnight. It got there the next day, was fixed that same day, and sent out the next. All in all, the turnaround time was a week, maybe a day more. EB will take great care of you, the customer service is top notch. I wouldn't worry about your guitar getting dents or anything. When I sent mine in, it came back in the same exact condition I sent it out in, mint.
