I’ve bought and sold a lot of guitars. I traded once, but in person. I have one I’m thinking about doing a straight up trade for. It’s difficult to selling guitar right now and I know what I want and think there are a lot of them out there so I’m considering offering this one as a straight trade. Question is how you protect yourself. I’d probably do it here or on the gear page or something like that. But do you get the guy on the phone first and make sure he’s legit, and how do you handle shipping etc.?

I've gone trades here before and it's a risk not really know the person and over a long distance. When I did a long distance trade with a forum member we each shipped our prospective guitar at our own cost with track number and such. I'm sure there are those that have gotten screwed over and that's sad to me. But again I've only done it here with established members. I think in the end communication is huge.

Good luck, Glenn |B)
