New to the forum, and I searched before I posted this, but didn't really find an answer.

For you BFG JP7 owners, how is the low B?

A little backstory, I had a RG1527 that the low B was pretty much not there. No volume, no real depth on any of the notes (B - E). I changed pickups, from stock to Tone Zone 7, to D Sonic 7, to finally Blaze's. Nothing helped.

I have a baritone and I can get a nice low B through my rig with it, so I hope I just had a bad 7-string. For reference, I either go through a Mark IV or a Diezel Einstein and it isn't that Korn stuff that I play. I just like have a low D or C when I need one.

Anyways, I am strongly considering a BFR JP7 and just don't want to be disappointed if the notes on the low B are average.

Thanks :).

No problem with that whatsoever - it's ALL there for what one might need. Every note really shines and sings on the BFR JP.

That's the reason I'm considering getting a second JP7. :)

The low B is present and tight on mine. They both have the D-Sonic. I have one inbound with the Crunch Lab in a month or so...I'm hoping the 7 string versions are just as good as the 6 string versions.

I don't have a BFR 7, but I've played my share and I own a standard JP7 and I can tell you that they are increcibly tight. These truly are a few steps above any 7 string on the market save MAYBE the Universe.

Thanks for the feedback. Exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Now I just have to get on Bass Central's waiting list for a BFR :).

I also have a Dargie Delight II BFR 7 and the low B is very tight sounding with a 54 on it. I know some will disagree with me but I feel that a 54 meshes perfectly with a set of 9-42's and on this guitar I never lose any definition or tightness even though some might consider it "floppy".

I saw all those nice BFR's on their website and guessed I could pick and choose. WHen I called them on Saturday, they were completely out of BFR 7's.

I was bummed at first, but glad/impressed EBMM can move a $3K+ guitar in this economy. It really says a lot about the quality and demand. They are expecting some to trickle in through March, but most are accounted for. But, I can wait for a BFR, it is one of the few guitars today that is truly a lifetime investment.

They probably have some BFR 7's in stock. Thats where I ordered my Dargie Delight II 7 from.

Why don't You buy Brad's (Bkrumme's) - it's in the for sale thread and is as new, but not pricewise :)

That would have been cool with me, but it sold this morning. If things don't pan out with this buyer, I'll let you know.
