Anyone received a new Bongo lately with flaws in the finish? I finally got my "Christmas Present" about 2 weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, it was worth the wait and I love the bass, but I immediately noticed several flaws in the paint job. Also, I picked it up last weekend and out of the clear blue the G string was touching the first fret. I had been playing it off and on for a week or so and keeping it in a stand in-between. It is in a climate controlled room, probably about 70-72 degrees...... Strange. I play primarily in drop C# with 50 - 115 GHS Boomers. I put a new set of theose on and it is playing fine. The action might be a little low but won't take much of a tweak.
I'm a converted guitar player, so I don't have as much experience with bass gear as many of you on this forum. I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this happen with their Bongo. I'll also post pictures of the finish. I'm pretty laid back about it but I think most people would have sent it back or asked for a resolution of some sort?
