SR5-1-1.jpg

Awesome, can we see more of that one? Did you do intentional relicing or is it worn?

If I recall, our man stumbled across this naturally worn beauty at a local store and couldn't resist it. Who could?

You can tell by eye that the SR5 [somewheres above]
is NOT any sorta "instant relic" job. The are SO MANY
subtle goings-on of a nature that NEVER carries over
to the bogus jobs [inclusing the vaunted "Nash" jobs].

Unfortunately the current poly finish is very unlikely to end up looking like that SR5. It's specifically designed not to, so to speak.

That's nitro? I used to have a trans red SR5 with metal battery cover, but I'm pretty sure that was poly. When did MM change from nitro to poly for the SR5?

TNT was that a jab? There are 22 to 27 coats of finish on the bass....and it is a polyester. If we sold you something it would be no better than a sharpie fix or nail polish and would not hold up questions posed like this one wont get a speedy answer....

Just got back into town!! BP, of course not, well not exactly, and certainly not at MM (as if I needed to say that).

I was simply/anxiously awaiting a "definitive" answer, just so that I could have it in my file. I already know what "substitute paint" procedures are out there, which is what the responders were helping out with. I was awaiting "the" answer, so that I could actually buy the "factory" paint if available.

I thought BP was just working on his line of "green" touch-up paint... We all know how hot that market is.

I wish EBMM would make basses in common car colors. If I had a bass in the same color as my car, I could use my car's touch-up paint to fix my bass. Plus it would look great when playing while driving.
