So i'm guessing the 700 that my GK puts out is a little over the top?

I own a Jcm 2000 Marshall, 60w, and I'm very satisfied with it, I've bought 60w version because I wanted to be able drive power-amp more, and it works for me, at gigs I can turn it to 8-9 master volume, have great tone and not over-power everybody else in a band. Marshall is more rock sounding, XXX has more scooped mids and it's more metal amp, think Soulfly... So, if you're for a versatile ,rock amp than it's Marshall, and if you want balls2thewalls bone crusher it's XXX. Try them both, they're nothing alike, soundwise. Only one thing - Marshall is very unreliable these days, tubes (pre-amp) are BS, quality is not like it used to be, so be careful, mine drop dead after 3 monthslarryandrews said:Ive narrowed it down to the Peavey Triple XXX with the Triple XXX cab or the Marshall JCM2000 Dual Super Lead 100 and 1960A Cab
what do you guys think the price difference between the two is $450 more for the Marshall
larryandrews said:what about a marshall avt150 anyone have anything to say about them i know they only have a tube preamp but i wonder![]()
larryandrews said:now is the 5150 the same as the 6505 also is it worth the extra $50 to get the 6505+ which has the tube in the preamp.
J_Alexander said:nothing wil ever beat the 5150 or the combo. very useful amp and those that say they cant get a good clean sound out of it dont know what there doing.

And BTW, the JSX Ultra channel has more gain, IMO than the 5150. It also happens to have one of the best clean channels you'll find.
