Hello! I am considering replacing my 1997 Silhouette Special's neck. The main reason is that the frets are showing some signs of dents, and re-fretting costs a lot nowadays.
Has anyone done this before? and any pointers how to go about it?

Thank you!

One more thing I just noticed from the photos. It looks like the high E is is too close to the edge of the fret board. I think you could benefit by loosening each of the bolts that holds in the neck by 1/4 turn and 1/4 turn only. If you do this, you may hear at some point a pop. That's OK. That's just the neck realigning in the pocket based on the tension of the strings pulling it straight. After you turn them a quarter turn, take a peek at the string spacing on the front and see if it is less close to the edge. I've done this a number of times and I'm always surprised at how doing this can fix that issue. Then re-tighten.

I'll look into that. The thing is that I've been playing it like that for quite a while and got used to it being close like that.
