Check out the Music Man FAQ: FAQ and see the section titled 'How do I set up my Luke or Luke 3 with the floating tremolo?'

If you are handy with guitar maintenance, it should be pretty straight forward. Confirm neck relief, relieve string tension, remove some springs and/or relieve spring tension, and follow the FAQ setup parameters. You will most likely have to lower the saddle height too once you have everything else sorted.

If not, I'd recommend printing or writing down the FAQ recommendations and take it to a trusted tech.

I leave my Luke set to float per the factory recommendations and love the playability and vibrato flexibility. The only real downside is the intonation float when doing some double stop bends or bending while playing multiple strings.

It's set to raise up three semitones on the G string. As Racerx said ... undo whatever you did with the tension (springs and/or claw adjustments) until you like where it is, then deal with the neck relief and saddle height.

it’s a simple process, but one that you will have to keep repeating until you’re happy with the results.

Loosen the two screws at the spring claw in the tremolo cavity in the back of the guitar.
Retune in the guitar. Check the amount of up-pull with the term arm.
Repeat until you are happy.
Then adjust saddle height to lower string action if you think it necessary. Overall string tension will be the same so neck relief probably won’t move.

Any questions, were here! 🙂
