Well, thats all well and good, but there have been many products out there that were better than the competition that failed due to improper or poor marketing strategies. One of the most popular being the whole Sony Betamax vs. VHS. In many regards the Sony product was superior to the VHS scheme. However, Sony's want to keep all the tech to themselves and refusal to license the tech cause an inferior product to dominate the market.

That's not the first time Sony has failed in this area, anyone remember the Walkman? Should have continued on to be where the ipod is today. Betamax was a much better system and was used extensively in production houses on TV studios until digital. BTW anyone remember VHS?

Tom (Frknvya):

I've just had one crappy day with someone who was expecting their bass and it was delayed a bit due to NAMM. He was notified ("Come on down") when the bass was ready to ship from the factory, and that was probably a mistake. He got twitchy and I don't blame him. I would have been twitchy, too.

So I'm not saying anything to you. I'm just saying, well, nothing.

To you.

Just, you know, I hear things, but that doesn't mean anything.

If you promise not to get twitchy, I will say that your bass has been finished and is being prepared for shipment from SLO to AZ.

Or, you know, I could be just yanking your chain and should be roundly ignored.

But I trust you not to get twitchy.

Not that I'm saying anything to you, because I'm not.

I just sent Steve a can of soup, so hopefully it's actually done. You know JAck, I wasn't twitchy at all until I read your post. Now I'm about to jump out of my skin!

Good thing I have a fretless Bongo on the way...oops, did I say that out loud?...(and yes, it's used, I can't afford any more new basses for the time being!) so even if this is a figment of your imagination, I'll still have a new toy to keep me occupied.

Well, that's absolutely cool! Where did you find a used toofless Bonger? I'm glad to hear that (it's not like I'm going to wring any more cash out of your wallet)! Color? Numero de cuerdas? Or number of strings? Hiccup configuration? Whatchoo got, Fargin Villa?

Actually I found it on eBay of all places. It's a blank plank dual hummer 4 in Egyptian Smoke with a black ice pickguard. There a ding in the same place I put on on my former Bongo 5, so I'll feel right at home. Until I play it, that is!

I had to get a different color than my fretted four so I could tel them apart when I was looking at their backs, since I tend to lean them up against my amp when I'm not playing!

By the way, you'd be wringing cash out of my wallet if there was any left!

Oh man.

You just made some weird switch in my head click on.

I really must have a Graphite Pearl Bongo with a Python guard.

Who's with me?

It happens more often than you might think.

Figjam ordered a really SWEET SR5 HH that made me slobber.

I still dream occasionally of BP's Bongo, which at one point caused me to frantically email Scott Ball, begging him to sell it to me.

He talked me out of it - smart guy - but I still think about it late at night.

Smallequestrian's Medallion Gold Bongo? Yes, I've thought about knocking him on the head and absconding with it, sure. And I LIKE him a LOT, and yet.....

Gangster of Love's Desert Gold Sterling? Same thing.

Oooooo, I get GAS, yes I do. I am thankful for the fine instruments I have, never doubt it, but there are times..........well, you guys know.

It seems the word is out in my neighborhood;
- Music Man at 145 Sting Ray Avenue
Tonight's pizza order arrived with a complimentary upgrade;
- '2 large' for the price of '2 medium' :)

It's something nice to get
- great deals on Music Man basses
It's something else to
- feed more hungry musicians with hard earned $linky dollar$
~

Bye, gotta run;
- call on line 3 for another supermarket parkin' lot 'flatbed' jam
