YOU WROTE: "I have to correct one thing. There is only 1 Burnt Apple, they all have sparkle. This is not rare, just nice."

That is wrong!! If you look on this sight under "build an instrument", and choose the burnt apple you will see that it doesnt sparkile, and if you want to tell me that the reason is that my computer graphics are deceiving me, than choose either the black or white sparkle , and you will see

Okay, that's enough... Hey, 'dude, Jon works at the EB/MM factory - he builds these guitars, he handles several a day; I think he knows what he's talking about. Why don't you just try accepting the fact that this very common, very ordinary, very normal (and very lovely) Axis?

I dont know if those links worked, but if you look on this sight, under a guitar that has sparkle, the only two being white and black, and if you also look at burnt apple you will clearly see that burnt apple doesnt have sparkle...and besides that, burnt apple has been discontinued......

It's the way those particular examples were photographed, to down play the sparkles and accent the burst... Here's a pic of a very ordinary, very common Luke II in burnt apple:

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=4191

And here's a lovely burnt apple Silhouette Special:

And here's another burnt apple Axis Sport:

Now, lets put away the knee-jerk, grade-school contrariness and move on, shall we?

I have a Burnt Apple guitar, that's Burnt Apple. They all sparkle.

Just not always in photographs, especially in the dark.

That's the exact Luke that I have Jimi! :)

Dude,

You're seriously making Long Island look like a bunch of nitwits.

When we tell you there's one Burnt Apple, there's one Burnt Apple. It has been discontinued, tho' there are a number of them in circulation and it is not a 'rare' finish (just because it's been discontinued doesn't mean rare). You're bucking the mods here dude, as Jimi stated Jon works for EB and is most klnowledgeable in the area of EbMM's (duh.) Pearl Redburst is close in idea, but not with large sparkles (more metallic). As of now they've discon'd the sparkle finishes (sparkle black, sparkle white, blue dawn, autumn sunrise, burnt apple....I forgot some...) with the exception of Radiance Red and Medallion Gold (both sorta sparkle...). That's all she wrote.

Sorry if I jumped in guys, but some people don't learn.

sorry to insult your intelligence in guitar finishes orange, and to degrade the reputation of long islang by my inproficiences in this subject matter, but i didnt ever say that i thought it was rare because it was discontinued, i said i thought it was rare because the picture of burnt apple on this website doesn't sparkle, and my guitar does, therefore i was led to believe it was different than what is listed as burnt apple.....when the kind gentleman with the luke burnt apple offered me his picture with sparkling radiance,( so beautiful a guitar we have, and im about to lose ) I was convinced the picture on this website was the liar and the other members werent....i then went on to say, well if it isnt rare, it is still discontinued, which is a reason to get your hands on a brand new one now if you like them, cuz pretty soon...orange..there will not be anymore brand new burnt apples....you misconstrued the sources of my proclamations....lol..my dads from farmingdale off of merrits road...the downtown rules man....hey, buy my guitar..rare or not..

Ha. Dude I've been edgy as heck lately, too many life/ gear changes crashing down at once....sorry if I've been abrupt with any of you guys, tho' it's good to see that Axis is finally getting it.

So the real question is why get rid of the Axis? Just to get a hollow body? I know plenty of cats that suffer from the stigma that they need a Benedetto to rip some bebop. Heck Johnny Sco' uses a Ibeenhad. I think it;s really best to develop your style based on an instrument you're comfortable with....that's my constructive 2 cents.

You know, I've been playing with some guys doing some modern jazz, like Stern & Brecker etc., a solid body Les Paul in the neck position is getting me there just fine. Just roll of the tone control a little bit. Sounds great.
